Janice Munemitsu is a spiritual director in private practice and formerly a staff director at Biola University’s on-campus Center for Spiritual Renewal. She graduated from Biola’s Institute for Spiritual Formation (ISF) with a Masters of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care. In addition to her on-campus spiritual direction practice, Janice hosts frequent Soul Care/Solitude Day Retreats and is available to lead day/weekend retreats for groups.

Her passion is helping others find spiritual freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17) in an authentic faith with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Her own journey has taken her through prolonged times of grief/loss and seasons of joy and blessing. Her personal practice includes a progression of spiritual direction, soul care and the retreat practices of stillness, silence and solitude.

Janice came to the study of spiritual formation with a background in business and change management/organizational development. Her bi-vocational perspective includes over 20 years in the corporate world of consumer brands/food industry with The Clorox Company,  Mars, Inc., and ConAgra Foods where she last served as Vice President of Brand Marketing. Janice has a B.S., Business and M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.

Called to lead 9 years of  back-to-back capital stewardship campaigns at her church (Mariners Church, Irvine, CA), she experienced the Holy Spirit in truly transformational ways which led her to a greater interest and study in spiritual formation and soul care. Janice served for 10 years in the ministry of Generous Giving, a fully-funded ministry whose mission is to spread the biblical message of generosity in the U.S. and globally through Generosity Path.

Currently, she also serves on the board of the Bible Project, A3 Leaders, and National Christian Foundation California (NCF).

Raised on a strawberry farm,  this farmer’s daughter loves gardening and the analogy to spiritual growth found in her hobby. With a heart for travel and ministry friends world-wide, Janice has travelled to 6 continents. She is a native of Orange County where she currently resides.
